We are seeking for Reliability/Mechanical Engineer, to join our Maaden Aluminum – Smelter (MAC).
Your primary role will see you responsible for equipment asset reliability for the facilities under this department. Will participate in reliability improvements project and conduct the reliability studies, plying the Reliability Methodologies (RCA, RBI, RCM) and the Statistical Reliability Methods. Knowledge of asset creation, asset criticality ranking, failure codes, CMMs.
Minimum Requirements
As a successful candidate, you should hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Reliability engineer background is preferred.
You must have minimum (7 – 15) years of experience, preferably in the oil, gas, or similar process industry. Aluminum – Smelter industry is preferred.
extensive experience in rotating equipment and reliability function. You should have a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in troubleshooting and investigation, failure mode analysis and familiar with reliability programs. You should hold valid internationally recognized professional certifications such as CMRP or any reliability certificate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate in the implementation of the RCA process to include application of the cause- and-effect methodology in all areas where reliability opportunities are identified and where the RCA triggers are met.
Develop and maintain a model that identifies the unit operations, equipment, process and value of opportunities for improvement.
Evaluate and quantify the impact projects such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, equipment quality, etc., to enable to meet customer needs.
Utilize asset and analyze cost data to develop and prioritize a list of reliability opportunities.
Evaluate/validate the impact of corrective actions that impact availability/reliability and leverage solutions across a business or site, if appropriate
Review equipment repair scopes, document down time, lost production, mean time between repairs and develop root cause failure analysis reports in order to review and revamp existing preventive and predictive programs for the equipment.
Automate / develop reliability reports to benchmark existing equipment performance.
Works with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for adhering to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.
Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer applies:

3) Reliability modeling and prediction
4) Fault tree analysis
5) Weibull analysis
6) Root cause analysis (RCA)
7) Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system
Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including:
1) Asset utilization
2) Equipment effectiveness
3) Remaining useful life
4) Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability, reliability and costs of assets.
Provides technical support to production maintenance and technical personnel
Be the focal point of contact, responsible for any critical or major equipment trouble shooting or failure analysis.
Conduct meetings and collect all information necessary (process, vibration, assembly, etc.) to complete investigations.
Review and update maintenance strategy annually to optimize equipment maintenance tasks
Review engineering request packages for any machinery modifications or upgrade and provide comments.
Calculate and update the monthly and YTD asset KPIs.
Issue our reliability program monthly report (MTBF, bad actors, etc.) updating the equipment health progress, and reporting failures and successes.
Establish an assets fault analysis database ensuring all data, drawings, and information are complete and all modifications are updated
Investigate trips on critical equipment to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
Oversee the PM, PdM, PaM and RCM programs.
